Travel association Abta has reported a boost in bookings to the gleaming city of Dubai and the Egyptian retreats of Cairo and Sharm el Sheikh.

Easter is the traditional start to the summer travel season, and this year in Britain the extra bank holiday due to the Royal Wedding is giving travelers extra incentive to get away on a vacation. Spain remains a popular favorite for many, but people have also been showing interest in North African destinations like Tunisia's Djerba. Britain itself is experiencing some unseasonably warm weather, but those who want guaranteed sun are still flocking to countries where temperatures range in the upper twenties at this time of year.
